How Think Yeng Started…

Hi everyone! My name is Yeng! I am an avid learning busybody, trying to manage my life the best that I can. You can learn more about me here.

Over the years, I’ve continually learned in school, holding multiple jobs to pay for college, joining clubs and organizations, and creating a career pathway for myself. I’ve mentored and helped people from toddlers all the way to college students in my various roles. Stuff that keeps my busy.

Last year when I moved out of my parents’ house at 23 years old, and into my own apartment with my partner, I started learning the other important aspects of life around me. The bills I have to now pay, the organization and upkeeping of more than just my bedroom, the commitment to maintaining relationships as my family was not in the next room and friends becoming busier with life.

Starting late October 2022, after I started working full time for the first time in my life, I became more stable and my hours were stable, and my off work time were also. I was finishing up my graduate program also so I remained busy and learning.

However, as I finished up my school in 2023, I was no longer a student studying. It was a nice breath of fresh air out of school. My off hours were spent resting, watching tv, playing games, and scrolling through social media. These were all relaxing and well for the first couple of months, but I missed keeping myself busy.

And most of all, I missed learning. For myself, not just for work.

I was reading more about financial responsibilities, retirement, and independence. The more I began to read and learn, the more life and ambition I felt with having something new to learn again. I began seeking ways to reinvigorate my after work hours, and I remembered how much I loved being able to help other students, using my experiences and skills to help with their assignments, and exchanging ideas and opinions about school, life, and all sorts of topics. I realized that I can still do that, albeit through a different platform, if I can continue helping, sharing, and exchanging ideas and opinions, I would be learning for myself and helping others in the process.

So I started Think Yeng, where I can still continue these goals. You can read more about my goals at Think Yeng here.

Think Yeng is where I want to continue these goals, and if I can help even just one more person, then that is worth doing.

I plan to continue learning and growing with this site. I will share my experiences, knowledge, and opinions (you may not agree with them at times, and that is okay). I will use my skills and knowledge to help you. And we can grow and learn together.

Think Yeng is continually thinking, learning, and growing.
